Amber Benson is a talented American actress who has worked as a performer, writer, director and producer. Her most famous role is playing Tara Maclay from the TV Series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Benson has also directed her films Chance, Lovers Liars & Lunatics and was the lead actress in them. Benson also appeared in the film Kiss the Bride. Benson is the daughter of a psychiatrist and a Diane Benson was born in Birmingham Alabama on January 8, 1977. She has a younger sister Danielle Benson, who is an artist. Benson's father was Jewish while her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. Her family was raised going to a Reform community in Alabama. Benson's acting career has been booming following the ending of Buffy. She was in movies like The Killing Jar, and shows such as Morganville The Series. She also used her skills in writing for her own show, the Ghosts of Albion Series and directed Drones in the year 2010. Buffy has spent an effort and time to locate them, states there are around 1800 Slayers around the world, including 500 who are part of their organization, the Scooby Gang.
